The Club’s hut, situated in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, makes an ideal base for a weekend’s mountaineering in North Wales. Its position, close to the foot of the Watkin path to Snowdon and set back from the A498 between Beddgelert and Capel Curig, is easy to reach from the West Midlands and gives easy access to the whole of North Wales.
The hut provides comfortable accommodation for up to 15 people. Facilities include alpine style sleeping bunks, a smart new kitchen, a toasting-warm wood burning stove and a fully equipped toilet & shower block, complete with tumble dryer. The hut is open to members 365 days a year. For more information about the hut, including how to take a booking, please send us an e-mail.
During the year, the hut is host to a selection of Club events:
- Family Weekends: For one weekend each month during the summer, priority at the hut is given over to families. We like to encourage the next generation of mountaineers and to allow the parents a chance to introduce their youngsters to the Club.
- Mountain Skills Weekend: Safety is always a top concern in the hills. This informal course, run by Club members, gives everyone the chance to hone their skills.
- Working Weekends: Sadly, the hut doesn’t maintain itself. We are always grateful for volunteers for these weekends to help keep the hut in tip top condition.
